Rak Motchi × Think

On March 17th – 19th, there was the event called Japan REMIX at Emquartier, near  from Phrom Phong BTS station. In the event, Rak Motchi sold Japanese handmade daifuku, Japanese rice cake stuffed with red bean paste, as one of the Japanese food booths in the event. So, some of Think members went to help make and sell daifuku.

<About Rak Motchi & Japan REMIX>

    Rak Motchi is a group consisted by four Japanese undergraduate students who are currently studying  in Thailand. When there was one Japanese social networking event, they happened to know about the Japan REMIX, and there was one food booth that was available for them, so they started to plan selling daifuku. During the event, the street was full of Japanese food booths and variety good stores. People coming into the street had much fun looking around the Japanese products.

<Daifuku>

    Many people might think that daifuku is not that difficult to make since it is done only by having red bean paste stuffed in sticky Japanese rice cake. BUT it is not easy as you think of. It’s difficult to shape a beautiful round because mochi sticks to hands when you are almost done shaping. I had to practice many times until I became better at making it. But, after the practice, when many people had a tasting and said it’s so delicious, and finally bought daifuku, it made me really happy. Because our booth seemed the only one that was run by students, it was probably noticeable for many customers. Both many Thai and Japanese customers stopped by and bought our daifuku. Since the price per one daifuku was relatively cheap, there were some customers who bought many daifukus by oneself. In the end, we could sell daifukus more than we originally planned.

<Gratitude>

    All of the sales of daifuku will be donated to Think by Rak Motchi. We all would like to express our sincere gratitude. In addition, for all customers who came to our food booth and bought daifuku, we would like to thank to all of them. It was really encouraging that many people were interested in the flyer about our activities. Also, we would like to thank to all customers who made donation aside from pay of daifuku. Thank you so much. As Think, we would like to receive all of donations with full of responsibility. Again, thank you so much.
